Will Hanson - The Bats

from Dogs Got A Bone - The Album by Various

/

about

The album (MOVING A BODY) was digitally available on August 22nd with a physical release (including limited edition vinyl) scheduled for October 31st on 12/26 Music. MOVING A BODY came about following a move from his native London, via New York to Glasgow, following the breakup of his previous band Proxy (Island Records). After collaborations with producers Jamie Savage (Chemikal Underground), and Oli Bayston (Keith, Howls) and funding from Creative Scotland Will realized his solo work was actually much bigger and suddenly found himself fronting a 6-piece band complete with string section. Wills sound draws from the cinematic expanse of acts like Mogwai and Portishead to an intimacy informed by Lambchop and Mazzy Star. Although Will is heavily influenced by instrumental music ranging from Arvo Part to King Tubby to Slint, he is very much a song man in the most traditional sense.
